English Learner (EL) Services

Supporting Multilingual Students Every Step of the Way

At Annandale Elementary, we are proud to serve a diverse community of students from different cultural and language backgrounds. Our English Learner (EL) program is designed to support students in developing strong skills in English while celebrating their home languages and cultures.

 What We Do:

• Provide targeted language instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
• Offer small-group and individualized support based on each student’s language level
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure academic success
• Use research-based strategies aligned with state standards

 Our Goals:

• Help students gain confidence and fluency in English

• Support students in accessing grade-level content

• Encourage pride in bilingualism and multicultural identity

• Partner with families to promote success at school and at home

 Family Engagement:

We value our partnerships with families! Our EL staff offers:

• Translated communication and interpreter support
• Family nights and cultural celebrations
• Guidance on how to support learning at home
